Changing Families
- When parents are divorced or separated, children often miss the parent who is not their primary caregiver. Have that parent make tapes that the child can play when they are sad and miss them. Example, have the parent read a book and record it on a tape. The child can play that tape at night in Spinoza and follow along in the book. Or have the parent send encouraging messages to the child on tapes that can be played in Spinoza.
- With multiple parents/step siblings and extended families, children get overwhelmed. And then there are the issues of discipline, favoritism and all the rest. Spinoza can be the constant companion. Can teach acceptance and sharing. Can help bring the new family closer. Use as a discussion tool.
