Cleaning and Care of Spinoza
Cleaning your Spinoza Bear
There are times when Spinoza may get a little messy while eating. If your Spinoza is prone to messes, you can dress him with a childs size 3T T-shirt. He may be cleaned with a damp cloth, or anti-microbial wipes. For heavier dirt:
- Mist with an anti-microbial cleaner, let sit for ten minutes and wipe off.
- Mist with water and wipe again.
- Brush the fur to release dirt particles.
If Spinoza is extremely dirty, it is possible to hand wash the bear. First, remove the cassette player and speaker. To do this, remove the small screw in the side of Spinozas red heart dial, and remove the dial. Pull the cassette player out of the pouch. Then follow the cable up into the bear and pull out the speaker box. Remove all the stuffing from the bear and wash by hand with a mild detergent. Hang Dry Only ! Heat from a dryer will cause the fur to shrivel. Periodic brushing will help Spinozas fur to remain soft and fluffy. If all this sounds like too much work, just send your Spinoza to the Bear Doctor.
Taking care of the cassette player
To prolong the use and life of the cassette player, do not expose it to extreme temperatures (like in your closed car), direct sunlight, moisture, sand, dust, or mechanical shock. Clean the tape head and pinch roller after every 20 hours of use. You can purchase a cleaner, or use a cotton swab and a little isopropyl alcohol. Do not leave the batteries in the player if it is not being used for extended periods. Batteries can leak and cause corrosion of the battery terminals.
